Most
of Sophi's inspiration comes from a love of walking the cliffs and
beaches of Cornwall. She started out painting as a hobby to while
away the hours waiting for ships to come in to Falmouth, as she was
a ships chandler and worked for an infamous group of characters known
as "The Falmouth Licensed Watermen".
Eventually
people wanted to buy her paintings and although very shocked at
the thought, she still enjoyed her work on the waterfront. After
a few years Sophi decided to take a job on the other end of the
scale working with luxurious yachts but she still painted when she
had a chance.
Sophi
very sadly had to give up that line of work but it gave her the
"push" she needed to take up painting professionally.
